I am always impressed by competence, and at St. Lawrence Place competence lies behind the excellence in every service: housekeeping, health care, the menu, the programs and, yes, the trouble-shooting, too. There is no weak link in the chain. Competence creates confidence. It is responsible for the frank, open and friendly relationship between residents and staff, creating the atmosphere where I can say, “I have truly enjoyed living here.”

St. Lawrence Place has been an absolute blessing for our family. My mother has been living there for several years, and throughout that time the care, compassion, and professionalism she has received have been consistently outstanding. My mother in law had a nice spacious apartment overlooking Ontario street at this well maintained retirement home. The location is convenient & there was always parking available. Some of the staff there are very friendly and proactive. They had daily as well as festive activities creatively organized throughout the year. There is a lovely library and outdoor area where seniors can enjoy the view of our beautiful downtown & lakefront which we enjoyed very much during the summer months. I worked at this facility as a UCP for 1 year and 9 months. The management team is excellent, especially Patti Hewitt the Health and Wellness Manager —she has been incredibly supportive and truly makes the nursing team feel like family. I felt very happy and fulfilled working here, and I’m genuinely sad to leave due to relocating as a military spouse. If I ever return to Kingston, I would definitely apply again. The staff here genuinely care for the residents and make them feel like they are part of a family.

For the past 3 years, my mother has happily called St. Lawrence Place home. From the day she moved in, the entire staff have been attentive to her needs and interests. Whether it involves recreational activities, meals, special outings, maintenance requirements, health oversight, or housekeeping - they are all there to support Mom. I have witnessed the personal touches that staff provide each of their residents with genuine interest and respect. Our family wholeheartedly supports Mom's decision to make this place her home.
