My 93 year old father has been living at Parkwood Manor Retirement Home for nearly two years, and it has been a wonderfully reassuring place for him — and for me as his daughter, living abroad. Although he tends to keep to himself, he feels completely comfortable there and never pressured to join activities unless he chooses to. My husband & I had been happily living in the country, about two hours from family and Coquitlam. I have been a resident at Parkwood Manor for over a year, and I am very happy with my decision to live at Venvi Parkwood Manor. I have found that the staff consistently go out of their way to make this feel like home. Just the other day, a staff member named Pam was kind enough to prepare a vegetarian option when a meatball sub sandwich was on the menu. Food isn't quite as good since Gary retired. Staff is pleasant and ready to help always, however there appears to be little oversight for each department. The guy in charge of maintenance, Mike or his staff ripped apart the box for her seasonal air conditioner. We put it out in the summer and put it back in its original box for the winter for storage. It was torn apart and left a mess. The hole that was drilled in the wall for the tube is a huge eyesore and looks like it was done without care. We were supposed to get a windo... read more
