Really want to love this restaurant, but it was a let-down. We were given a hundred dollar gift certificate. We used half of it on our first visit, and we were told that we would be able to use the balance on a return visit. But when we went back yesterday, the gift certificate showed a zero balance. On both visits, our food was excessively salty, and the use of vinegar was pretty overpowering. My husband lived for several years in South Carolina, so he knows good southern cooking, and I’m afraid that this didn’t measure up.
The proteins were great, the sides were forgettable. Devilled eggs were good but under seasoned and not worth $11. Hush puppies were worth the price. Chicken sandwich was huge for $13. Pulled pork portion was small for $20. The sauces should have been front and center but the portions were tiny.
Great food and a fun atmosphere. Unlike BBQ places that overpower meat with smoke or sauce, Reunion lets the quality of their meat shine. Everything was well prepared and high quality!
Fantastic service and delicious food. Everything was (or tasted) homemade.
Some of the best ribs I ever had.
