RETRO FITNESS IS A SKAM I signed with them in 2015 in Rockaway NJ I have used the facility constantly until August 2024 when they closed due to Eviction for not paying rent Since then they moved my membership without my knowledge or consent to 2 difrent locations ( Kenvil and Moiunt Vile NJ) towns that I have never went to in my life due to distance and oposit direction to my house or work. Been coming to this Retro for a short while, no complaints! They have any machine I could want and just got a few new ones. Even at traditional prime times (5-6PM) I'm never waiting long for any machines if at all. The only thing I could wish for is an additional chest fly/back reverse fly machine. On top of that the smoothies are tasty (Mocha Mania is great) and the staff are very friendly - I've always had great experiences with Valentina and Jorge.
Nothing like trying to unsuccessfully downgrade a membership for three weeks, getting ignored by staff not doing their job and twisting my words, plus management not caring or calling back a single time, and then being treated like you’re the problem for getting frustrated about your own money being held hostage. Decent place. New stair machines aren't great, though. The emergency switch is at knee level and twice I accidently triggered it and the machine stopped cold. I'll stick to the old machines, I guess.
