After an exhaustive search of various Reverse Mortgage providers via the internet and other resources, I came to realize that most all the providers relied heavily (if not exclusively) on telephone and internet services with no face to face, hands on guidance or support. I expressed my feelings with a friend who suggested that I research some local banks and insurance companies which resulted in my choosing Mutual of Omaha based on the published material it supplied, its outstanding reputation in the financial community over many years and finally, the fact that it had an agent Mark Schumacher, less than fifteen miles from my home.
At our first meeting at Mark’s office he went over background material to evaluate my decision to use the value in my home to stay in my home and at the same time provide a source of cash to maximize my quality of life during my senior years. Mark then detailed the “who, what, when and where” of the standard Reverse Mortgage application process which served not only to lend confidence to my decision but also to realize Mark’s strong, ongoing interest in me as a client and friend. There were additional meetings, phone calls and procedural challenges where Mark was always fully knowledgeable and always only a prompt phone call away on a friendly, honest, enthusiastic and professional basis.
With Mark’s hands on supervision I have successfully obtained a Reverse Mortgage Line of Credit and now have peace of mind knowing that I have access to enough cash to last me the rest of my life while still remaining in my present home.
