Our GPS lead us to the bistro parking lot instead of the bakery that’s across the train tracks. They accommodated our request for take-out as we were in a hurry to get on the road. The food was quick and the service was excellent. We will be coming back with our kids next time we’re in the city as we feel they’d enjoy the food and the experience of eating on the train car!

We chose this restaurant based on the good reviews but the food quality is not consistent. The restaurant has 3 dining area, the dining room, train car and the courtyard each has its own charm. We ordered the prime rib, fish special, mussel with blue cheese and onion soup. The first red flag was the bread. Although the garlic balsamic oil dip was delightfully interesting but the bread was just awful. Clearly homemade but over-proofed also somehow soaked in oil. I've now eaten at Resto Gare twice, and while I like the atmosphere and have had some good food here, I'm increasingly unsure the food lives up to the prices. On my first visit, the French onion soup was decent but not nearly as rich or distinctive as versions I've had elsewhere. The seafood cr�pe was tasty and filling, but the highlight was the mushroom appetizer, which I thought was excellent: the unexpected charred, almost charcoal-like flavor gave it a real point of distinction.
