Many trust the Marriott name, but choosing this hotel for our New York honeymoon was a huge mistake. Worst experience ever: • Hygiene is terrible; drains don’t work and elevators are awful. • Staff are unfriendly. • Views are not guaranteed—don’t choose this hotel for the view. Positives: decent breakfast, polite guests, good location. Still can’t believe this is a Marriott. Hyatt remains the best U.S. hotel chain.

The good? the people and the location. Those are wonderful. The bad? Everything else. Rooms are beat to hell. The elevators are beyond ridiculous. Every review you read about how bad the elevators are does not at all capture how bad the elevators are. I would never stay here again.

We got stuck in the elevator for more than an hour. We called the reception but they didn’t do anything knowing there are 8 people inside and a PREGNANT lady. So after we decided to call the fire department to get us out of there. Finally we were out after 30minutes. We were promised one night free of charge as a compensation for the stress and guess what, we never got the refund! Bizarre! Service on the lowest level possible, they reached the bottom.

Great location and relatively quiet but our room had a kitchenette and the appliances were not very clean. We found dirty dishes in the dishwasher and a hot water kettle with a leftover food in it. There is only one out of three working elevators and it was very small. People waited up to 40 minutes for the elevator.
