I was able to get someone to help me take my old water heater to the dump for me along with some other things. i don't have a truck nor can i do the labor required to do the moving anymore. when the people got to the dump, the dump charged an extra 100 dollars for the water heater. it costs 100 dollars to take your water heater to the dump... plus the cost of the other things in the truck. Terrible customer service and outrageous fees Republic Services landfill in Missoula has some of the rudest staff I’ve dealt with. The workers seem irritated just to do their job, and there’s no consistency in how they treat customers. On top of that, the pricing is ridiculous — you’re hit with random add-on fees that make no sense, like charging extra for untarped loads even if everything is contained, or high costs for basic items. Horrible hours and shity overpriced services. Every other dump in this state stays open past 330 and operates better.

Significantly worse than the dumps in Helena and Butte. High prices, weird rules, and the recycling isn't in the same place as the normal landfill. Classic case of a private company being terrible at something that local government should be handling. Going private only makes sense for services that can be easily swapped for another to keep it competitive.
