Great rates and communication from the start. Booking the via mail was easy, which was important since we live in Germany. The Outback was a wonderful car and amazing for the Alaskan roads. We'd recommend renting from RentaSubaru over all the other rental places. We were even dropped off at the airport after taking the car back. Thanks for the great car!
These folks are great. Rent A Subaru and Midnight Sun are the same outfit. I made a reservation six months prior with Budget because I had perks with them. They did not have a vehicle available and there were half a dozen other folks waiting for a vehicle as well. I had researched local companies and gave RentASubaru a call because we owned a Subaru. Our experience with Rent-a-Subaru was superb, by far the best rental car experience we’ve ever had — hands down, no contest. The customer service is exceptional. Add a driver…no problem and no cost. Extend the return by 12 hours…not a problem, no cost. A ride to the airport? Absolutely. Unlike the major rental car companies, Rent-a-Subaru allowed us to drive the Denali Highway and out to McCarthy on the gravel roads. And the cherry on top? The cost is about 33% less than any quote from the major rental car companies.
Easily my go-to for any trip to Anchorage. By far the best value and quality - I will 100% be recommending this company to any of my friends and family hoping to visit AK or Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. The car handled the drive very well to Denali, Wrangell, and Kenai Fjords and we were not charged any additional or young driver fee. Most companies prohibit travel on Nabesna Rd and McCarthy Rd into Wrangell Ntl park. INSANE VALUE! If you want to drive into Wrangell - St. Elias national park (or on any other roads that almost all the big rental companies prohibit), This is the cheapest option by an insane margin. It came out to under $700 for 9 days (during shoulder season). All the other rental car companies that allow you to drive on those park roads ask for 2x-3x that amount.
