We recently went to Renown Children’s Hospital because our son had a swollen eye and severe itching, and we wanted him to be checked right away to prevent anything from getting worse. We arrived around 8:30 PM, and by 1:00 AM we still hadn’t been called in. All they did was check his vital signs twice, with no real evaluation afterward. We felt like we completely wasted our time. My child was transferred here from another hospital. She became extremely ill while we were on vacation, close to 1000 miles from home. The staff was mostly okay, my issue is with their billing and insurance system. They do not bill insurance for pharmaceuticals given while in the hospital. What kind of hospital system, especially one as large as this one, does not bill insurance for pharmacy. That is completely asinine. Reno Children’s Center is truly amazing. My daughter, who has autism, was with them for a couple of years, and I can’t express how grateful I am for everything they’ve done for us. They not only helped my daughter grow and thrive, but they also taught me how to better understand and support her. I honestly don’t know where we’d be today without their guidance and care. Our twin girls were born early and spent some time in the NICU. The doctors, nurses and care professionals did an amazing job at caring for our babies and ensuring that they continued to grow and develop well. We experienced first hand the love they gave to our babies and we are eternally grateful for everything that everyone did. Our girls are now home and growing happy and healthy. Thank you Renown :)
