I had court ordered domestic violence group counseling due to having a CPS case. Despite it being called “group counseling,” we were not allowed to talk. We had to watch videos of women being abused and listen to the lectures. Many of these lectures blamed us for choosing to be in relationships with abusers and not being assertive.
