This is a questionable practice. I went in with chest pain(thankfully it was nothing), and the EKG tech looked horrified to perform an EKG because I had chest hair, she wouldn’t even touch me. The doctor came out and asked me to come back once I had shaved. As a nurse, that is NOT how things are supposed to be done.
