This bathroom remodeler suggested a direct replacement—they carefully removed just the pan and the bottom row of tile, installed a new acrylic base with a proper slope, and waterproofed the seam. They matched the existing wall tile perfectly, so you'd never know it wasn't original. No more musty smell, no more soft spot in the floor.
