I’ve trusted this salon for years. I only go once a year because I protect my natural hair so much. So when I walked in for my usual silk press, I truly believed I was in safe hands. Do NOT come here. I sat in the chair and while she was washing I asked how much. They tried to charge me $95! All because I have “thick” hair. I’ve never heard of people charging for the thickness of hair (ppl charge for length). My hair is only to the middle of my back. If you don’t know how to work with thick curly hair you shouldn’t be doing hair PERIOD. Then I was like okay I’m leaving that’s too much. The owner tried to charge me $40 for wash and detangle. I got a silk press here in march 2025 and have extreme heat damage. It took 5 washes for the smell of burn to come out of my hair. I went to a professional and they said they could still smell it burnt and asked if I had it chemically treated. I called the owner and asked and she was very rude in her response when I asked questions saying “didn’t you hear what I said, we don’t use any chemical treatments.” When I got the silk press, They used a cream on my head after the wash and sat me under the dryer for about 20 minutes, ... read more
