Terrible Service, Very High Prices A terrible place to shop. (I was even criticized by a manager for returning a defective item!) Supposedly REI offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but this is all talk, and not what they really do. Customer service is as bad as I've ever seen. Lots of wannabe outdoor experts sales associates run around pretending to know something, but when asked a question, are unable to provide even low level technical assistance.
