Luxury prices, garage-sale exit! I stopped into REI today to buy some Christmas gifts and ended up spending just under $900 on jackets, a Yeti cooler, shoes, a pocket knife, a flashlight, and other items. Selection was fine, but the checkout experience completely soured the visit. I was being told after paying that REI is a “bagless” business and does not provide bags—no paper bags, no options at all.
