9/25/2025: Update to my tale of woe about the clerk and customer from Hades in June 2025: I wrote REI off after an egregious experience on a weekend day in June, 2025, but my husband didn't, and wanted me to pick up his new shoes. Walked in on a Friday afternoon and saw at least 4 people behind the counter! Imagine going to a store like Rei on a Friday, mid-morning, thinking it 'll take you a few minutes to run in and return shoes that were too tight (ordered online). Yay! There's only two people in line, you think, so you'll be able to get to your next destination on time. The first customer quickly leaves, and the second customer walks to the counter.
