As much as I believe in the co-op business model, some of their products were just unnecessarily expensive. They really should source products from cheaper but reliable brands. I am sure they are out there. Because I buy them from elsewhere. Just not at the REI.

Daniel was amazing! I had a number of returns from 4 different stores. He processed them seamlessly. He is bright and ambitious. He epitomizes customer service!
Taking a minute to address REI abuse policy regarding returns. We cannot return any items we purchase at REI. Why? 1. Because we returned two Dometic refrigerators whose compressors broke after 6 months of use. (the compressor issue is a known issue....they were $700 a pop and we could have returned to Dometic but REI said to return to the store). 2. We returned a North Face 4 person Wawona that we had up for ONE day and which wind and rain twisted when the entire tent was guyed out correctly- this tent absorbs so much water... read more
