Miss the Tempe location more and more each time I visit this new location even though it's been years since Tempe was around... Really hate this new modern REI feel.

The return/exchange process is getting uncomfortable to say the least. I've been shopping at REI for several years. But after buying some REI brand trail pants in May, I needed to exchange them due to a bunch of stitching coming loose around the pockets. When I went to exchange them the cashier (I believe manager) looked over them. She hemmed and hawed, interrogated me on how I used them. Did I "rub my but around around on the ground" she asked. Great advise and customer service! The guy that helped me gave me tips on how to prep my new sleeping pad for its first use and had a tape measure to make sure I got the right size.
