Dr Regina Belmonte treated me so poorly that I'm not allowed to talk about it in this review.
Dr Belmonte is cold, condescending and lacks empathy on all levels. I ended my apt within 5 minutes because of this. I do not recommend her and it’s sad she represents and works in a women’s group.
I have never felt so judged and uncomfortable at an appointment. I discussed weight gain I have had since starting birth control. She told me I was wrong and that hormonal birth control doesn't cause weight gain (which is false). Then proceeded to make me tell her everything I eat in a day and said something negative about every food I stated (including salads because I put feta cheese on my salads). I politely and repeatedly told her that I had already tried the medication she was recommending multiple times, but it fell on deaf ears. I felt so unheard and unseen by Regina. A family member has endometriosis, yet she was entirely dismissive that it was possible that I might have it. She stated that since I had cysts that ruptured that it was not possible.
I was a patient of Dr Belmonte’s for many years. I liked her and trusted her. As a 15 year breast cancer survivor, I depended upon her to give me competent follow-up exams. During my last appointment with her, she asked me a standard question - did I have any abnormal vaginal bleeding. My answer was “yes” - it happened one time. Her response was that if only happened once, that it was ok. One year later, I found myself in a gynecological oncologist’s office, diagnosed with uterine cancer. Love her. She's very personable, professional, and has a great bedside manner. I feel like she's my bff that's so happens to be a doctor.
