In 1970, Earl and Mary Redner bought two small supermarkets near Reading, Pa., and started the first chain of employee-owned supermarkets in Pennsylvania. A big shout out to the young lady at Redners customer service, the Redners manager who, sight unseen, lent me his jumper cables, the Redners customer and, finally, the young man driving through Wells Fargo parking lot. Thank you all for helping me out today when my battery died. PS - Jumper cables are now in my car.
