I was stigmatized with bipolar throughout my career and after, and Dr. Spenser guided me through it to feel accepted. She's an awesome therapist. I can't highly recommend her for treatment since she appeared to be learning "on the job" by trying various medications on me that didn't work and had side effects. For me, there was a certain amount of office politics with Melissa's wife being the receptionist and office manager and boundaries became an issue. They are amazing. I don’t know how to describe it but most therapist and psychiatrist I’ve been too seem cold and just want to get it over with. Melissa has taken the effort and time to understand me and prescribe what is appropriate to me and I am seeing good results. I am very grateful to have her as my psychiatrist because she has a lot of empathy for her patient unlike most “professional” I’ve had. Thank you Melissa and Stefani is amazing also!
Melissa and Stephanie are wonderful and make the entire atmosphere feel safe and welcoming. Melissa listens to my concerns and respects my input. She has been a big help in finding treatment, be it medication, TMS, or something else. It can sometimes be hard to find a mental health professional who understands religious trauma and how it can affect you long term, but Melissa has been great! I highly recommend her practice. ❤️❤️
In my humble opinion, Melissa Spencer is one of the best for med. management and holistic care. I have a complicated history or mood disorder. In my 40 years of treatment for it she ranks One for me! She's also helped me overcome the stigma of mental health.
