We only stayed for one night, but could have stayed the entire weekend if we had the time. The only issue we had was at check-in. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the property manager forgot we were arriving. We made the reservation more than a month in advance. The back-and-forth check-in process caused us to be late for an event we were attending nearby. The shower was also missing body wash, as it hadn't been used in a while. Very unkept exterior and pool. Quiet because there are no guests.The place is for sale.
Our family had a great time at Red Owl. It was easy to find and in a good location not far from the Smithville downtown area. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house so my mom could rest away from the kids who were sometimes bouncing off the walls. We were lucky enough to have nice weather to use the outdoor spaces which were great including a few outdoor tables where we ate lunch. I would definitely stay here again.
