I entered this facility seeking help at one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. Instead, I experienced treatment that was careless, dehumanizing, and damaging. On my second day of admission, I had no detox support, no personal belongings, and no proper clothing. My clothes were taken and not returned. While still in withdrawal, exhausted, and barely functioning, a staff member aggressively removed me from my bed and forced me to walk outside in the snow without socks and without proper shoes.
