If you think they check the vehicle for road compliance before selling, you are wrong. No dash lights, no tail lights (of course you don't test drive at night so you might miss it), bad wheel bearing (which you won't know what that sound may be since you're not a mechanic), AC leak (they only recharge Freon but not stop the leak so a month later you have no AC), leaking roof (you wouldn't find out until heavy rains a month after)..
