This place is amazing, I would have to go down to Alpharetta and spend twice as much to get food and cocktails at the level that this place puts out.
I’ve been to Recess 4-5 times over the last few years—it has been one of my favorite local restaurants in Gainesville. Tonight was a huge disappointment, however, especially since I had built it up to the guests we took there. The calamari appetizer was left in the fryer way too long—hard with very little taste. One of our guests had the fish and chips—same thing—the fish and the fries were way overcooked—you could tell immediately when the server set the plate down—everything was very dark in color.
