My grandfather has been there for over a year. He’s had scabies twice. Several possessions have gone missing, including his dentures and glasses. The staff is overwhelmed and not trained to deal with the mental or physical state of the residents. Facility is always dirty. My grandmother can’t afford to put him somewhere else and she can’t care for him herself.
I was ashamed that our grandmother stayed in this place. All residents use the same common areas, regardless of needs or mental state. There's constant buzzing of digital alarms and dementia patients yelling at everyone. No one watches the door most of the time you can walk in with no one checking that you sign in or you have any business there. We could have rolled grandma out the door and no one would have noticed.
