Completely changed my daughters medications that she had just gotten set right and refused to listen about or treat Adhd. Then, instead of telling us she couldn't see her anymore when she turned 18 her next appt was just canceled because she doesnt treat adults. That left us without care for over 2 months while we found someone else.
I was referred to her for anxiety and depression, but had concerns about ADHD. I tried to tell her my symptoms, but she shut down everything I listed, saying 'that's not ADHD.' She insisted that it wasn't worth looking into because I had good grades. With that, she invalidated my concerns and all of the research I had done. Every appointment with her felt rushed, and she would even be several minutes late on several occasions. My daughter saw Dr Zarko when we located her from another state. She was amazing with my 17 year old daughter. My daughter is thriving and living her best life now. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Zarko, as far as I can find out, is the only psychiatrist willing to work with young children in several counties. So she works fast when seeing a child and parents. But as far as I’m concerned she does a terrific job. We have a terrible mental health crisis in our area, with so few providers. Dr. Zarko is a hero.
I would never subject anyone I know to the personality of this person. Worst doctor I have ever dealt with.
I would never, ever recommend Dr. Zarko to ANYONE. She is insensitive, bullying, and belitting, and will not listen to anyone speaking to her. She talks over you, completes your sentences and wears you down until you just agree with what she says. My family member is actually worse for the wear after a visit with Zarko.
Dr Zarko is extremely thorough in her evaluations!
