I love this concept . As a voice teacher at The Old Town School Of Folk Music, I always tell my students that they need to break down all words into individual sound components, usually consonant- vowel- consonant.This makes for effective speaking and singing.

This is a great teaching strategy for students, especially if their literacy program is missing a phonemic awareness piece.
