Been a member here for a while now. Location is great. Gym is OK, not usually crowded but limited machine options and equipment is very old and not well maintained. Agree with others here, front desk is very unfriendly and I think puts a lot of people off this place. To be honest, the whole place including front desk needs a bit of an update. Don’t do classes so can’t comment on quality of those.
The gym itself is quite good. Really good facilities, great location. But, the receptionist Demi is a serious problem. Completely unhelpful and unwilling to be kind and empathetic. She is not friendly at all and makes you feel stupid for asking the smallest question. This is not a reflection on the gym itself. However, when the first face you see when entering the gym is one of a perpetually disappointed and uninterested person, it sets up the experience to be subpar at best.
This gym is more than a place to work out. If I don't rock up for a few days (which is rare), the welcome back and concern is palpable. There’s no pretence, just great, inspiring teaching, satisfying, earned -results people share, and a bunch of genuinely good humans who care about health, wellness, and each other. In 25 years of gym-going, this is the only place I’ve felt belonging and my wellbeing responds. I’ve been coming to The Re-Creation for some time now, and I can confidently say it’s exceptional! The team is absolutely amazing – from reception to the support staff, Demi and Jack always go above and beyond to accommodate your needs and are always prompt to help. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. I truly can’t recommend them highly enough!
