I'm a temporary resident and signed up for RBC accounts when I moved to Canada a year ago because they seemed to promote being welcoming to newcomers to Canada. They are not! Despite building up my Canadian credit history over a year and starting a successful business, they are still refusing to raise my credit limit from the introductory $2K limit. When I attempted to have my request escalated through management, reps at this branch threatened to lower my spouse's credit limit. Boo! No newcomer-friendly at all!
