Dr. Hashmi, I am not sure if he’s a good doctor or not. I came in to one appointment in pain and he did an assessment. My joints was swollen, we did a X-ray of my wrist and hips and he suggested some YouTube exercises for bursitis/tendonitis. Even wrote the YouTube link on a piece of paper. I was beyond pissed. The front desk people are often rude. When you’re sick and in pain the last thing you want to deal with is attitude. I am here to sing the praises of practice manager Eugenia Holmes! She is both a consummate professional and a kind, caring human being who made me feel heard and seen in my time of desperate need. Because of her, I was able to land safely in the care of Dr. Raza Hashmi, who was recommended to me by a dear friend. He has taken great care of me in a scary situation (developing arthritis at 48 years old). He is smart, thorough and direct. I appreciate those qualities in a medical provider. Update: in case anyone is looking for a good Rheumatologist, I would highly recommend Dr. Boatright. He is exceptional. He greets you in the lobby, the office staff is kind, and the office is managed professionally and efficiently. A terribly run office with poor communication and shady billing practices. I had a positive experience with the medical staff but the front office staff, particularly the young AA lady with blonde short hair, was extremely non-caring and lacked empathy. There have been insurance changes impacting my billing and instead of researching and offering a solution, she communicated in such a very direct and blunt way that was a turn off for me (I even complimented her prior to our discussion and she didnt even dignify it with eye contact as she replied thank you).
