I was there during renovations taking place but these are very pretty beach houses with a beachy feeling right and next to two beaches.
I stayed one night at The Boathouse and, there was a strong smell of old, wet wood that made the room feel damp and unclean. The place seemed to be collecting dust, and even some of the furniture and fixtures had rusty edges — particularly noticeable around the food area, which was quite off-putting. The location was perfect, just a 5 minute stroll to Main Street, golf course and great fish and chip coop, the service and support from Amanda was excellent. Unfortunately the positives stop there. It was very windy and the wood heater flue would not stop banging and rattling through the day and night, we had to relocate the couch and place 2 large bowls on the floor due to the constant water leaking through the wood panel ceiling due to the rain, the stove elements were full of rust and had not been de-rusted for some time,... read more
We were the smaller, very cute and very clean villa called Loft. Very cozy too, can recommend. Loved the spa and the general atmosphere of the place. Right next to the golf too.
Great location, a very short drive or slightly longer stroll into town, the pier and the beach for a morning walk. Nice little villa, super comfy bed and a nice vibe all round. Loses a star basically because the fire place was de-commissioned (why?!) and the place is in dire need of a bit of maintenance, but ultimately a good night away for a reasonable price in a good spot! Note to owners: Fix the fireplace! The air con / wall heater just isn't enough.
