It was the first time my mom had an appointment with Dr. Pekala. He treated her like a queen. He was very caring and took his time with her. She’s in a wheelchair bound and suffers from dementia. But Dr. Pekala was great with her. Thank you for taking good care of my mom. The staff was always great.
My father is 87. He has bad arthritis in his neck and back which forces him to hunch over similar to scoliosis. Dr. Pekala was testing him on the eye test machines as a precursor to laser surgery. My father was having great difficulty raising his head to the level of the machine and Dr. Pekala took my dad's head in hand from behind and forced his head into the machine repeatedly despite his vocal and visible pain. Office is small with only one office manager and Pekala. Had to wait 45mins past appointment time because it seems like they double book appointments. Didn’t get the quality one on one care feeling and pekala seem to be rushing between two patient rooms. If he only slowed down and made us feel like he genuinely cared it could’ve been a better experience.
I made appt. for 8yr old boy we walk in and they lady says we don't work on children. I said I told u he was 8 she said it wasn't her I talked to...Nasty. I have never been treated like such a bother in my life all I wanted to do was get prescription for kids glasses and all I got was grief. when i left i said thanks for making me feel like a bother and she says "your welcome". I’ve been going to Dr. Pekala for nearly 20 years. In my opinion, he’s the best in ophthalmology. I’ve had various surgeries and difficult diagnoses that he has always handled efficiently. If you’re in need of a great eye doctor, look no further!
