Very unreliable and don't do what they commit to doing for you. The Mother/Wife at the front desk is rude and impersonal. My mother used this law firm before she died, so I continued to use them for a family matter that I took over. Twice, the Senior Rathert took money from me while I waited for him to handle a legal matter for weeks on end. Instead of being a man and telling me he didn't want to take the case, he completely blew me off, DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and wouldn't take or even return my calls. As another reviewer stated, the front desk "help" is not very helpful. I learned later that she's Ratherts mother. I was dealing with a case of abuse towards my sons and simply asked how mediating would help. We'd already been down that road, numerous times and my ex NEVER followed any of the agreements made during mediation. So why would I take off unpaid, to pay someone to advise me about how to proceed.He lied to the courts stating that I failed to attend 3 scheduled meetings. Would not even extend the courtesy of 2 minutes on the phone from the administrative assistant to see if it would be something they were willing to undertake, Do not recommend.

My entire family has used this law firm going back into the 1950's. My mother recently passed and my assumption was that her will would be in their files. Last week I called to inquired about this. The elderly sounding lady who answered the phone said she would check and took my phone number. I did not get a return call and called the office back several hours later. Extremely nice people who really want to help you. They took the time to get to know us and our needs for a will and for a problem with another lawyer. Later, they helped us out when my Mother-In-Law passed away. Highly recommended and established. A small family business you can trust.

I have used Joe Rathert for tickets for my sons and have also referred on to four other people for various legal issues. Mr. Rathert is always professional yet makes you feel like you are a family member when you talk to him. I am a paralegal and have worked with many attorneys over the years. You always know the good ones when you talk to them. I would definitely recommend Joe Rathert and the Rathert Law Firm.
