I would describe my experience as negligent and cannot recommend Sean Johnson at Rate. I reached out to him directly to buy my first home. He quoted me a rate of 6.2% around the time I signed my purchase agreement but did not inform me that I could lock my rate at that time. My rate floated for 3 weeks while we wrapped up inspection and concessions. By the time he brought it up as an option my rate increased to over 7%. This has by far been the worse experience I have ever had when purchasing a new home. The amount of incompetence with this team is unreal. Poor document management and even worse communication. They cannot commit and stand by any dates and always push the blame and point fingers at someone else. I always heard great things about home buying and great lenders, working with this company specifically Mandy was a nightmare. She is very unprofessional, unorganized and disrespectful. We had lost contact for Atleast a month until we started calling in to see if everything was okay, she then told my wife and I not to call or speak to anyone else, to email her and when she has time she will email us back. If you want to lose thousands of dollars and the home of your dreams then you found the right place. Communication and professionalism are lacking heavily. Will set expectations just to turn around and reset them over and over again. Never ending circle of “next week”
