Fantastic Kaiseki lunch set. Experience reminded me of some great times in Kyoto.
Save your $250+. I don't think this place is worth it. Food was mid. Rice dish underwhelming. Most dishes underwhelming. Any other omakase would be better. I recommend Sushi Jin. The whole place feels stuffy. No windows. Same generic piano song playing on repeat. Service 5/5. Chef was super friendly too. Nothing against this place but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Ranzan was a wonderful dining experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, while the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole visit enjoyable. I’d definitely come back again and recommend Ranzan to anyone looking for a great meal in Redwood City!
Amazing meal, one of the few places for authentic kaiseki in the bay area. Very delicate flavors and intricately crafted. The zensai in particular was exquisite, grilled kamasu with egg yolk sauce was absolutely delicious and had me scraping off every bit of sauce from my plate.
