I can't wholeheartedly say I would recommend Mayfield going forward, despite being a patient several years ago for an epidural. Today's visit seemed rushed, and I left feeling like I was just "pushed" through the system. Upon arrival I filled out a questionnaire, in which I was asked nearly the same questions once in the patient room. I also was told Mayfield was taking an X-ray (this was news to me), but to top it off, the X-ray was not even reviewed with me by Dr. Hlubek or any Mayfield staff. I am very happy with the results of my L3-L5 fusion. Prior to surgery I was unable to be on my feet for more than a couple of minutes before needing to sit for extended periods. Today- four months post surgery I am walking more than two miles per day with hardly any pain and I still am experiencing daily improvements.
Completely discounted my pain and told me he sees no reason I should be in this much pain after he pointed out a degenerative disc and after a year of injections in my neck from other doctors who clearly saw the nerve pinched. Tried to tell him how bad it hurts all the time and what I felt. Then referred me to a peripheral nerve surgeon regarding my arms, which is NOT where the pain is coming from, I can FEEL it. Dr. Hlubek and his staff are very nice and helpful. He is super caring. I could not have asked for a better doctor. He and his staff are wonderful.
I had surgery done by Dr. Hlubek in December 2022. The first time I went to him, my husband and I felt completely comfortable. I was 57 yrs old at the time and he looked at my mri and said, I can fix your problem. You won’t be 16 again, but you will be good! We book my surgery that day! He’s amazing!!!
