Had a visit with her in 2023 and I didn’t recall this physician’s name until now…she’s weirdly racist. At the end of the intake appointment, she recommended a different psychiatrist because “he’s Pakistani and would be a better fit.” I did not express any concern for cultural competence, and I personally didn’t feel this identity was an important part of treatment, so this comment felt not only unethical but a blatant form of discrimination. Would not recommend.
I saw Dr. Rana for about 5 years and she was a very caring and kind person. Dr. Rana worked with me adjusting dosing of my meds to meet my needs at all times. She was great at listening and always was kind to me. I never had any problems with getting appointments or getting a response from the Dr. or the office. I had some difficulties with the support pet authorization company to approve my pets for living at my apartment and I had her full cooperation with this. Unorganized, incompetent, dismissive. I cannot believe I suffered through having her as my provider for so long. For people who are vulnerable from already suffering abuse and trauma, Dr. Rana makes it worse by manipulating and gaslighting. I waited 7 months just to leave this office in tears feeling more hopeless and ignored than I ever have with any psych. I have been seeing specialist since age 13 (over 15 years) my pain psych and psych both left the state leaving me to search for a new one who would accept state insurance….and this was the worst experience I have ever encountered.
