I had my car checked out because transmission wasn’t shifting right, mr. Ramirez told me that transmission is about $1800 ,a week later He tells me it’s gonna be 2600 Then, four days later, he calls me back again telling me it is $3000, definitely not a recommended place for transmissions, Mr. Ramirez doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Good place to rebuild transmission

We stopped into Ramirez Transmission after having sudden issues with our transmission on I-88. The gentleman who runs the shop saw us immediately, made some adjustments, replenished our transmission fluid, and had another employee run tests on the catalytic converter. In a quick turnaround, we are back on the road and were given such quick, friendly service. Best experience we've had in these circumstances all around.

You get very little information from the shop employees, they're constantly redirecting questions and concerns to the shop owner, who is either never there or never call back. During the time my car was at the shop, it was being test driven - which I consented to. When I went back to pick up my car it had a hub cap missing and the shop owner stated it was not his responsibility to replace. Needless to say I am NEVER recommending this place to anyone.

I just took my car (1990 Olds Cutlas) in for a transmission repair (TCC solenoid and seal replacement) AND a brake line repair. Price was right and the car is fixed. Repair man and owner were both polite. Car drives great again and I got a 6 month/12,000-mile warranty; if theres a problem with the work, it should show up by then. Im satisfied.

We have a 1992 Lumina and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. I priced a few other shops (all with good reputations) and then called Ramirez, based on a recommendation. The price was below all the other estimates. (They didnt know I had gotten other estimates, so they didnt just "lowball" me.) Mr. Ramirez was courteous, professional, and seemingly knowledgeable -- with a large collection of certificates on his walls to attest to his training. His shops (in two buildings) looked well-organized and clean for mechanical work... read more
