As a woman of larger size, I am used to having my concerns dismissed by physicians, in particular within orthopedics. I brought my MRI to the doctor who carefully reviewed it and discussed with me a plan of care involving surgery. At no time did I ever feel like my concerns were dismissed and that my first post-op visit I thanked him profusely for being a kind, competent, and compassionate physician. I'm very pleased with Dr. Elshaar. I think he did a good job with my total shoulder replacement. Three and 1/2 months out, I have full movement of my shoulder and arm by going to PT and doing the exercises at home.
In 2018, at age 42, I was diagnosed with arthritis - and consigned myself to a life of degenerative pain. After nearly 2 years of occasional PT, my physical therapist strongly recommended that I seek out Dr. Elshaar for a second opinion. I had curtailed motion of my right shoulder and pain. Dr. Elshaar fixed both problems. No more pain and I can play golf again. Dr. Elshaar listens and advises. NEVER pushes surgery. I rate he and his staff a 12 out.of 10
