We were so excited to do this but they called and canceled on us for the second time. The website says rail explorers will run rain or shine and, “a decision to cancel a tour because of a thunderstorm is typically only made 30 minutes before departure.” A worker called 2 hours prior to the tour start time to cancel due to storms on the radar. This was a fun excursion. Some things to know- it is so so easy to pedal. We rented a quadcopter and one person in the back right seat is responsible for the pedaling. There are pedals for everyone but they don’t do much unless everyone else stops. The electric assist motor does the vast majority of the work. I thought we would go across the KY river bridge, but we stopped short of it. Definitely a unique experience and a good time. Employees were very polite. Do not be scared off by the fact that you need to peddle, if you do a quad, as long as one able person sits in the brake seat and can do a fairly consistent peddle, the assist kicks in and really not much is needed from the others. Don't allow physical limitations or age scare you off. Wish it was a little bit longer and a little more scenery, but overall, really cool experience. Trade off is that it is nice that much of it is shaded.
