Taking care of Buffie I must admit that I have used several grooming in the area. The other groomers were OK they provided the service I paid for so I thought I was getting what I paid for. Well my neighbor several years ago referred me to John and I have never looked back. John is amazing with all the dogs I see in his office, he treats them all special, even though I like to think he treats my more special. John understands your pet and will go out of his way to help in any way. His shop is off the main drag but it is wort... read more
With great appreciation Don't let the somewhat down-at-heel store appearance deter you, John does excellent work at very reasonable rates. He cares deeply about the dogs he grooms, and as my girl grew older, was very careful and understanding of her limitations, for which I have been greatly appreciative. Since he works alone, the best time to call for an appointment is 8-9 a.m. during drop-off, or late in the afternoons when most folks are picking up, since other than that he's head down in baths and hair dryers. john is a true dog whisper my husband and i have two very aggressive shih -tzus,teddy and molly. we have been told to never bring our dogs back from many dog groomers. when we called john he just laughed and said to not sedate them, just act like we were going to do something routine like shopping. he said to be relaxed and the dogs would feed off our emotions.when we got to rags to riches we were very impressed. very clean and relaxed atmosphere. john was awesome with our babys.we had tried trainers and behaviorists wiyh no... read more
Cathy B I have taken my dogs to John for years. First I had rescued a 9 yo Airedale, who was frightened by men. John won her over. After she passed away, I got "the Boys", 2 large Airedales. They love John! I moved away and recently returned. Even though I live in Arlington, it is worth the drive to have John care for my boys. I have recommended many other animal owners (dogs and cats) and all agree!
