My brother changed from St Luke’s to KU, hoping there would be a possible trial for liver cancer. His doctor was Dr Al-Rajabi. There was never any suggestion of anything other than Chemotherapy and Radiology. Very little interaction with Dr Al-Rajabi. The day we walked in and were told there was nothing else to be done. While my brother was trying to come to terms with the news Dr Al-Rajabi said “We all have to die sometime, some sooner than others “. I thought that was extremely cruel. No empathy.
My uncle trusted Dr. Raed Al-Rajabi for his cancer treatment, but he dropped the ball after the procedure. There was no regular check ups or monitoring on his condition until the very end when we had to rush him back to KU med. Even on his death bed he still trusted his doctor and constantly asked Dr. Raed Al - Rajabi to speak with him about the treatment. My husband is using Dr. Al-Rajabi for his cancer. From the very beginning he has been kind, frank, compassionate and thorough. This journey is not a fun one but Dr. Al-Rajabi is an excellent oncologist. We received a second opinion from MD Anderson and not only is Dr. Al-Rajabi using the same treatment they would, he has access to clinical trials that are more advanced than what MD Anderson is offering. Dr. Al Rajabi can not be trusted with your Cancer care. His team will drop a ball at some point of your care. I ended up not getting physical therapy after my surgery, and Dr.Al Rajabi didn't even plan it . I ended up getting hospitalized for three days cause he didn't care to give me a fitness test before I was sent back to work. I removed him from my cancer care. If you can't trust your Oncologist, then you can't trust him with your life.
