An absolute must stay while in Coober Pedy for an authentic experience of this otherworldly place. Think mad max meets modern comfort. The place is clean, comfortable and affordable . We stayed 15 metres underground where it’s a cool reprieve from the outback heat. Local owners are great and add to the experience with awesome knowledge about the towns history. A huge bonus they were happy to have our dog stay too.
Okay, let's start this review off by letting everyone know that this is budget accommodation and other reviewers may need to check their expectation levels. This motel is the most unique I have ever stayed in and it was amazing. The owner Pete was a great guy and good for a chat. He is working soooo hard on this place to make some nice improvements. Arrival was brilliant staff very friendly and helpful. Room very dated and unfortunately a very annoying bed that moved everything we moved in the bed or sat down on the bed. Room did get warm in the night but fans were provided in the room.
A fantastic stay.
