Went to Racine's this morning to have a key cut. The man said that he will not cut a customer's key, only keys purchased from them. As my wife and I were leaving, I told her that seemed silly that a locksmith will not cut our key, but ******* will. Sorry for the bad experience with our business. As far as cutting customer keys we post our company policy about cutting customer keys on the sales counter, We do not cut customer supplied keys. Some of the reasons are: Many aftermarket keys are steel not brass. Steel keys ruins our key machine cutters. These cutters are very expensive. Program keys (transponder) our programming machines charges us each time we use it. Many aftermarket keys are defective and will not program.
