My dislocated thumb was uncorrected for nine weeks when Dr. Hooper operated on me, so she had her work cut out for her, but she did a great job! Thanks to her and her team's excellent care, 15 weeks after the surgery, my range of motion is almost back to what it once was, and scarring is minimal. Thanks for giving me my dominant hand back, Dr. Hooper!
Very nervous about my trigger finger surgery but Dr. Hooper took all the time needed to fully explain the procedure, risks and benefits. Though I had trepidations about wide-awake surgery, my experience with Dr. Rachael Hooper was fantastic! She calmly and knowledgeably talked me through the process, and answered all my questions in a friendly and straight-forward manner. I felt so at-ease. It made a huge difference.
Today I had hand surgery with Dr Hooper and her assistant Laura to remove a mucous cyst from my thumb. What a great experience from start to finish. I watched as she numbed the surface, carefully opened it up (no blood) and out popped the sac of fluid. After the actual cyst was removed, it was beautifully sutured back together, wrapped in a huge bandage and I was ready to drive myself back home. Quick and easy and very professional. I highly recommend Dr. Hooper if you need any kind of hand surgery.
Dr. Hooper has been outstanding throughout the process, from coming up with a plan to perform a nerve transfer and decompression for my ulnar nerve in my right arm, getting the surgery scheduled, performing the 5 hour surgery itself, and all the followup. It wasn't an easy surgery, but she took the time that was needed and got it done! While the scar may not be pretty, the results are amazing--I can move my fingers again and sensation is starting to come back.
