The only shop in town that had the speakers I wanted to audition, so I didn’t have a choice but to go in. Super glad I did though. They were sure to have the speakers setup on an amp that was similar to my own before I even arrived, and when I got there they essentially sat me in a room by myself with a streamer DAC and a bottle of water. Amazing experience with exactly zero hard sell like you might expect from a high-end audio dealer. I got to hear the speakers I wanted to hear and take them home same day. No complaints.
I purchased an expensive piece of ARC gear from Patrick at Quintessence. The unit was subsequently badly damaged in Fedex shipping from Minnesota to my home in Maryland, even though it was packed correctly in the ARC factory container. Instead of referring me to Fedex for repairs and compensation, as many dealers would have done, Patrick stood by me 100% during the repair process. I could not be happier than I have been at Quintessence Audio. I have been working with Mick, John, and Patrick building my endgame system (as well know that's never a thing) and can't wait for my new components to be delivered. I've learned so much from the many open houses that I've attended and always walk out thinking about what's next for my system. This is the place to go when you want to do it right. This could be the best hifi store in the entire country. Their love of audio is apparent in every conversation and the team (especially Patrick) will patiently set up anything they have in the store for you to audition. Visiting Quintessence is pure joy and a must for any enthusiast looking for new gear. And the new listening room is one of the best hifi rooms I've ever heard - you simply must experience it!
