Over the last 40 years my experience of typical tire shops has mostly been negative, in chain shops in Fallon, Fernley, Reno. Lug nuts finger loose, lug nuts so tight they warped the rotors, so over-torqued a 4-foot cheater pipe was needed to get a flat tire off. Tires grossly over-inflated. "New" tires with nearly-expired dates. An undriveable car due to a wheel weight not installed. Being lied to about needing $800 of steering work on an RV that steered fine and had no slack in system.
