It's taken a while to write this review but we really wanted to express how wonderful Dr Pounder was when we brought our sweet Dachshund Otto to the hospital. It happened to be Victoria Day and it was 3am that he went into distress. We were so thankful that they were open, since our home is in Picton it was about 25mins away. After a few tests and xray's it was determined that he had hemangiosarcoma and it was fatal. Of course we were devastated as we had to make the difficult decision of letting him go. I don’t even know where to begin. My dog was in critical respiratory distress—his tongue turned from blue to purple. We called every emergency clinic we could across Eastern Ontario and the GTA. The closest one, Quinte Regional Pet Hospital (25 minutes away), initially tried to refuse us and suggested we drive an hour and a half to Kingston, even after we repeatedly told them he was actively deteriorating and needed immediate help. We begged for help—CPR, rescue breathing, anything—but instead, they stalled, wasting time with irrelevant questions like our address and the colour of our dog. Disgusted by the extremely transactional nature of the staff here, this is not an animal clinic this is a liscense to steal through coercion, fear and lies. The 5 star reviews are for sure from people who don't have the knowledge to know what these people are doing to there clients
